Christmas is a magical time of year for most of us, but for many people around the world Winter is a worrying time.
There are still millions of vulnerable children that need protecting and charities like Unicef are doing all they can to help protect young people from extreme violence, war and disaster.
Unicef have 70 years’ experience in safeguarding children and to help them here are some of the ways you can contribute.

The guys at Unicef have started a petition that needs your signature.
This game changing petition asks David Cameron to make protecting children from protection from violence a priority at the upcoming World Humanitarian Summit.
Unicef hope that the UK Government will commit to protecting children from extreme violence, by protecting the schools that keep them safe and protecting children who are torn from their families by wars and disasters.

Unicef are treating footballer lovers with the game of a lifetime, which will feature some of the most legendary players to ever lace up a pair of boots.
Some of the biggest names in football will come together at Old Trafford for the one-off match on Saturday 14 November to raise awareness for Unicef‘s work for the world’s most vulnerable children.
The Great Britain and Ireland team will be captained by Unicef Goodwill Ambassador David Beckham and managed by his former boss and fellow Ambassador Sir Alex Ferguson.
The team includes an array of footballing icons including Manchester United greats Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand and Phil Neville.
The Rest of the World XI, led by Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane and managed by Carlo Ancelotti, will also field some of the best players to ever have graced the game including Cafu, Luis Figo and Ronaldinho.

The reason that so many legends of the game have come together, is to raise money for Unicef.
This is all because players such as David Beckham have seen first hand, some of the incredible work that Unicef carry out in this country and around the world.
The former England number 7 just come back from Papa New Guinea, Nepal and Djibouti where he met many children helped by Unicef ‘s work.
